About Me

What helps people think well and for themselves has shaped my work with leaders, teams and organisations for the last decade.

But it started before then.

Leadership experience behind my coaching

I have more than 25 years of leadership experience in public and commercial organisations.

Before establishing Adlington Young Ltd, I held senior leadership roles with Arts Council England and Ambassador Theatre Group.  I was Director of Touring and International Strategy at Arts Council England from 2000 to 2007 with responsibility for national touring policy and international partnerships.

I subsequently served as Chief Executive of three major UK theatres: Milton Keynes Theatre, Aylesbury Waterside Theatre and New Theatre Oxford.  As Chief Executive of Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, I led the establishment and opening of the new £50 million venue in October 2010.

That experience means I understand leadership not simply from the perspective of a coach, but from having held responsibility for organisations, people, performance, change and comples stakeholder relationships myself.

Executive Coaching, Team Coaching and Facilitation

Since founding Adlington Young Ltd in 2016, I have worked with leaders and teams across private, public, charity and arts and cultural organisations.

Assignments include:

  • Executive Coaching for senior leaders and Chief Executives
  • Team coaching for leadership and senior managment teams
  • Leadership team facilitation
  • Board and organisational development
  • Facilitated strategic conversations
  • Leadership development programmes
  • Action Learning and peer learning groups

I have worked with business leaders through Buckinghamshire Business First and the Bucks/Thames Valley Growth Hub, as well as with organisations in arts, charity, public and commercial sectors.

From 2017 to 2024 I chaired Buckinghamshire Business First's MDNgage Leadership Programme, supporting more than 25 business leaders through facilitated learning and one-to-one coaching.  From 2020 to 2023, I was Lead Facilitator for the Bucks/Thames Valley Growth Hub Peer Networks Programme, supporting more than 30 business leaders and training and onboarding programme facilitators.
